Selected commissions are undertaken for private collectors, residences, businesses and significant spaces.

Rather than reproducing an existing artwork, each commission begins with a conversation. The subject, scale, environment and meaning are considered together before the work develops through the Artflava visual language.

The result is a unique work created specifically for its collector and its setting.

PRIVATE COMMISSIONS

Personal stories. Singular works.

A commission can begin with a person, memory, place, cultural reference or idea that carries particular meaning.

Past commissions have ranged from portrait-based works and family narratives to large-format pieces created around a collector’s individual story.

The intention is not simply to reproduce an image, but to interpret the subject and create a work that could exist nowhere else.

THE COMMISSION PROCESS

01 — CONVERSATION

Tell me about the idea, the space and what has brought you to the work.

02 — DIRECTION

We establish the intended scale, format, subject and conceptual direction of the commission.

03 — PROPOSAL

A proposed scope, timing and commission price are confirmed before the work begins.

04 — CREATION

The artwork develops in the studio through my established practice and visual language.

05 — COMPLETION

The finished work is documented and prepared for collection, delivery or installation as required.

PREVIOUS COMMISSIONS

If you have an idea, a space, or simply the beginning of a conversation, I welcome enquiries.

You do not need to arrive with a finished brief. A commission can begin with something as simple as a story, a photograph, an architectural space or an idea you want explored.

Private collectors, interior designers, architects, art consultants and businesses are welcome to enquire.

About the Artist

Chris Marie is a multidisciplinary artist working through long-form bodies of work that examine power, belief systems, and human transformation.

Rather than producing isolated images, his practice develops interconnected works structured as closed systems, where meaning unfolds through sequence, tension, and consequence over time.

Operating at the intersection of painting, symbolic architecture, and systems thinking, Marie’s work explores authorship, decentralisation, and the thresholds between control and autonomy.

He lives and works in Australia.
